In the last lecture we was given an exciting brief, to create two different expressive typography compositions out of a listen of given words, and bring them into lecture for a group discussion and feedback on these pieces of work, the list of words given to us where:

compression
transition
contraction
addition
subtraction
disruption
repetition
elimination
migration
expansion
exfoliation
interaction
crash
death
escape
splotch
search
fall
splash
dizzy
spiral
rip
ply
dive

My first reaction was to go with ‘fall’ and ‘search’, below is some research I did based on these words I picked, firstly I will show/talk about ‘fail’ here is my research:

Firstly I did a brainstorm of this word, just saying any words that came into my mind, and that could give me any leads for possible designs, from this I decided to use the bottom line and this is what I came up with:
photoMy idea thinking behind this was to have the text bold and capitalised to put the text across as important and then have a bold thick line underneath to show the ‘bottom line’ although when I was driving this down for ideas, it doesn’t show the message as much as I would have liked.
